The annual Picnic in the Park was held on the 24th May in Wardown Park, on a beautiful sunny and warm day.  The event was attended by approximately 3000 parents, children and professionals supporting the oral health messages of Healthy Teeth, Happy Smiles.

Jason Wong from NHS England was delighted to see the imaginative activities and foods on offer, promoting the importance of making healthy swaps for sugary foods and drinks.

The event was an excellent opportunity for the new Flying Start Children’s Centre to showcase their staff talents.  They provided songs and rhymes for families as well as a variety of fun family activities and information on the wide range of services they offer.  The toothbrush trail provided an excellent opportunity to further share good oral health messages as children and parents visited stalls to gather stickers.  As a reward for completing the trail they were presented with a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste pack.

Well done to everyone who contributed.  It was a pleasure to see so many families enjoying healthy picnics, taking part in the entertainment provided and the important messages so well delivered in a fun way.
