Wednesday 20th June once again saw the Picnic in the Park event in Wardown Park, this year with a theme of Five to Thrive. The annual event staged by Flying Start and the Pre-School Learning Alliance attracted over 30 stalls with partners from right across the early years spectrum, including nursery settings, midwifery, Health Visitors, Love Food, Luton Aspiration and Active Luton, to name just a few. The Flying Start Children’s Centres were out in force, providing information, advice and lots of fun activities for children under 5.
The event was opened by the Mayor, Cllr Naseem Ayub, who then took time to walk around and talk to stall holders and visitors, and generally enjoy the great atmosphere.
Luton Council Chief Executive Trevor Holden popped along for a visit, and was really enthusiastic about the event and the attendance.
Neil Leitch, Chief Executive of PSLA also attended the event, and commented that he felt proud to be associated with all that is being done for the early years sector in Luton.
Many thanks to all involved in the planning and staging, which is a huge task. We were blessed with perfect weather and lots of lovely, happy visitors. What a fabulous event!
Please put the date in your diary now for PITP 2019: Wednesday 26th June 2019.
