All programmes are free and for Luton residents only. All sessions need to be booked in advance.

ESOL for pregnancy launches in September!

English as a Second Language (ESOL) for pregnancy classes support pregnant parents with developing their English language skills with a focus on pregnancy and birth. These sessions aim to help enable families to be able to talk to their midwife and health visitor, increase their understanding of the importance of a healthy pregnancy for their baby’s health and development and build their confidence in asking and understanding questions about pregnancy, birth and their baby. The programme is 6 weeks and starts on the 8th September 9.30am at the Arndale centre (in the Mall). For more information or to refer a family see contact details below.

Suitable for: Pregnant parents with limited English

Health Walks are back!

Health walks for pregnant women or new mums. A great opportunity to meet other mums and mums-to-be whilst getting active and looking after your physical and mental well-being.

 Pregnancy Club (Starting Well eligibility criteria applies)

Pregnancy Club provides social support and key information for a healthy pregnancy and includes sessions with and without partners. There are women only sessions that focus on mother’s health (eating well for pregnancy, physical activity and mental well-being) and sessions for partners to join that focus on baby’s health (labour and birth, feeding and sleep, safety and illness). Mothers will be encouraged to attend all 6 sessions but will be able to join individual sessions as necessary. This programme is currently delivered online.

Suitable for: This programme is available for families living in Dallow, South, Norwell or Farley wards or living in a postcode identified within the 20% most deprived. Referrals will be accepted from health professionals for families outside these areas that they identify may be at risk of poorer outcomes.

Postnatal: what’s new for September?

Baby Self Weigh Sessions

Parent Baby Self-Weighing 15 minute bookable appointments to self-weigh your baby on our scales with staff available to support (see our timetable for when and where these sessions are running)

Suitable for: new parents with babies up to 6 months old

Baby Sensory Group (for parents of non-walkers)

This weekly hour-long face to face group encourages quality time for parents and baby- exploring various objects and using various senses to help your baby’s learning and development (See our timetable for when and where these session are running).

Suitable for: Parents with non-walkers

Early Days launches September (Starting Well eligibility criteria applies)

This programme will support new parents with the early days of having a newborn baby. This programme provides social and emotional support to new parents and information on feeding, attachment, sleep, parenting practicalities and physical well-being. The programme is due to start on the 16th September 10.30am at Foxdell in Dallow.

Suitable for: This programme is available for families living in Dallow, South, Norwell or Farley wards or living in a postcode identified within the 20% most deprived. Referrals will be accepted from health professionals for families outside these areas that they identify may be at risk of poorer outcomes.

HENRY Healthy Families programme face to face is back!

Henry is an 8 week healthy lifestyle programme to support parents with giving their children the best start in life and supporting healthy eating and active lifestyles for the whole family.

Suitable for: Families with a child under 5 that need support with providing healthy lifestyles for their child.
