Getting involved

Flying Start aims to make a positive change to the lives and life chances of future generations, and local community support is key to this.

Flying Start Community Partnership Groups are offered in each of the four neighbourhoods on a termly basis. You can work with other parents and local partner agencies to help define and support the local area priorities of the Flying Start Children’s Centre and ensure parent feedback is included within the planning of services.

If you would like to attend please contact your local Flying Start Children’s Centre for further details.

You can also develop your skills and make a real difference to the future of our children by becoming a Flying Start Volunteer. We are currently offering the following opportunities:

Flying Start Children’s Centre Service Support Volunteer – to assist and support our families visiting the Children’s Centre, assisting in the preparation and delivery of Children’s Centre activities and services.

Flying Start Children’s Centre Meet & Greet Volunteer – to assist, guide and support our clients visiting the Children’s Centre and support children’s centre staff in providing a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment for families.

With all volunteer positions we request a commitment to the Flying Start Children’s Centre of at least 6 months. If you are interested in volunteering, then please contact Luton Borough Council Volunteering Team on 01582 548772
