Resolutions are a free and confidential drug and alcohol service for adults, young people and families in Luton. They are providing training for staff to raise awareness of the issues in Luton and what support is available to refer to.

The aims and objectives are:

  • Increase your knowledge and understanding of drug and alcohol use
  • Reflect on the role of attitudes when working with alcohol and drug users
  • Respond to alcohol and drug use more confidently in your professional role

Training overview:

  • Overview of alcohol use: NHS guidance, units calculation
  • Types of drugs, route of use and health risks associated
  • Circle of change
  • What support can be offered to people struggling with alcohol use – harm reduction techniques, support available
  • Introduction to Resolutions – local drug and alcohol service
